Layali Wadi Rum ('Wadi Rum Nights')
'... a processional route that defies the imagination' is how Lawrence of Arabia described Wadi Rum...

Step out of reality and into the spiritual mystique of a traditional Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum, where the amazing sights of the Moon Valley, the eerie experience of tranquillity and typical Bedouin hospitality greet you. Surrounded by folklore displays, the atmosphere on the terrace forms a perfect start to your 1001 Arabian Nights experience! The old Bedouin woman kneading and baking pita bread, the henna tattoo artist who skilfully tattoos traditional designs and the traditional Arabic coffee service will transport you to a hospitality-filled village area bustling with life and excitement...

After pre-dinner drinks on the terrace, the guests will be welcomed by the Bedouin chief and escorted into a lavish tent, located in the Ballroom... the tent will be decorated with traditional Persian rugs and lanterns... waiters, disguised as members of the Bedouin clan, will usher the guests to the low tables and seat them on richly embroidered cushions, Arabian style...

The tables will be decorated with reddish-brown coloured sand, unique to the dunes of Wadi Rum, a miniature argeelah (hubbly-bubbly) and rocks and lit with a few miniature candles... the little touches such as old maps serving as cutlery holders and the unique Jordanian sand bottles serving as place cards.

The sound of the oud and the tantalising scents of the incense burners will be the perfect backdrop to the Arabian feast. A selection of authentic Arabic mezza is pre-set on the tables, while freshly baked pita bread is served by the traditionally clad waiters. Favourite local dishes such as the impressive mansaf and musakhan are served on huge sawani (platters) at the buffet.

Meanwhile, the artisans that the guests encountered on the terrace will move into the tent, allowing guests the opportunity to have henna tattoos done and to sample the argeelah flavours.
