Wet Canyoning

For a sporty couple’s trip, wet canyoning is a fun way to discover Wadi Mujib. Wading through high water and sliding down waterfalls provides an experience of the reserve that is unlike any other. This activity is an excellent adventure for an older group only, as wet canyoning is available only for adults and teenagers over 18 years of age.

The Three Fingers of Hercules

Please the whole family with a fantastic historical journey and interest children and teenagers alike with epic heroic tales at the gates of the Amman Citadel. Perched on one of the seven hills, the gates play host to a number of the artefacts, among them the three massive marble fingers of Hercules. Likely a remnant of a statue of Hercules, these fingers are part of the last remaining pieces of the Temple of Hercules, constructed under Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius’ rule from 161 AD to 180 AD.

Petra Archaeological Park

Perhaps one of the most famous places to visit in Jordan is the Petra Archaeological Park World Heritage site. Petra, built 2000 years ago, used to be the main junction of trades routes that linked India, China and southern Arabia with Egypt, Syria, Greece and Rome to export silk and spices. With the rock-cut architecture and water conduit system, this site is a breath-taking physical testimony of the genius of these ancient people. Not far from the main façade, visitors will find the ‘Little Petra’ (Al Beidha) which is as wonderful as Petra and unexpectedly uncrowded compare to the main one.

Dead Sea Activities

The Dead Sea is at the Earth's lowest elevation with shores at 400 metres below the sea level. Being the saltiest sea in the world, visitors can float effortlessly on the surface of the water. Children will enjoy playing in water where there is no need to swim while parents can float nearby while reading a book under the sun. The regenerating powers of the Dead Sea make it a treasure of health and beauty known worldwide since ancient times. Visitors use the revitalizing black mud of the Dead Sea and dive in its waters to benefit from its natural mineral salts.

Red Sea Sporting

One of the main stops should be the southern part of Aqaba which is located on the coast of the Red Sea. Indeed, this wonderful natural venue offers a wide range of sporting activities such as scuba diving, windsurfing, water skiing, jet skiing, snorkelling, and sailing. Whether sailing on the sea, appreciating the wonderful landscape, or snorkelling under the sea, meeting the mantas and whale sharks, visitors are bound to be amazed by the richness of the area. During the cooler seasons Aqaba offers a variety camping activities from May through July and from September through November.
